TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL, 中華職業棒球大聯盟) announced a surge in sales for the league's official magazine, "Professional Baseball" (職業棒球), on Monday (Dec. 9), with over 150,000 copies sold. The latest issue, featuring Taiwan's triumph at the WBSC Premier12, prompted CPBL Commissioner Tsai Chi-chang (蔡其昌) to announce a special two-day unlimited pre-order event.
The December edition, which hit shelves last Thursday, includes detailed accounts of Taiwan's nine matches, exclusive reports on players like Chen Chieh-hsien (陳傑憲), Chang Yi (張奕), and Lin Yu-min (林昱珉), and a commemorative championship poster. Tsai shared on Threads that the magazine's rapid sell-out led to the decision to extend the pre-order window, which is available through major online bookstores. He encouraged fans to check for purchasing details later on.
Tsai emphasized the magazine's significance as a standout gift for the upcoming Lunar New Year celebrations. He humorously noted that distributing the magazine instead of traditional red envelopes could save money, adding a light-hearted touch to the announcement.
