TAIPEI (TVBS News) — China's Ministry of Commerce (中华人民共和国商务部) placed eight Taiwanese entities on Tuesday (July 9), including Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC, 漢翔航空工業) and CSBC Corporation, Taiwan (CSBC, 中信造船), and eight other companies on an export control list to safeguard national security and interests.
The export control list includes other Taiwanese entities such as GEOSAT Aerospace & Technology Inc. (經緯航太科技), National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (中山科學研究院), JC Technology Inc. (仲碩科技), Jong Shyn Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (中信造船), Lungteh Shipbuilding Co. Lt Co., Ltd. (龍德造船工業), and Gong Wei Co., Ltd. (攻衛股份).
The ministry cited its authority under the "Export Control Law of the People's Republic of China"(中華人民共和國出口管制法) and the "Regulations on Export Control of Dual-Use Items"(中華人民共和國兩用物項出口管制條例). The regulations prohibited exporting dual-use items to these Taiwanese entities and required an immediate halt to current related export activities. Exporters must apply to the ministry for permission in certain circumstances. These new regulations take effect immediately from the announcement date.
