TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's electronics industry forecasts robust growth for the global flexible printed circuit market, with projections reaching US$20.08 billion (around NT$614.4 billion) in 2025. The Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA, 台灣電路板協會) and Industrial Technology Research Institute Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center (工研院產科國際所), Taiwan's leading technology research organization, released optimistic predictions showing 6.4% annual growth driven by technological advancements and emerging applications across multiple sectors.
The comprehensive report released in August reveals that the FPC market reached US$18.87 billion (around NT$577.2 billion) in 2024, representing a modest 2.8% increase from the previous year. Mobile phones continue dominating as the largest application category, despite confronting significant challenges from international tariffs, economic uncertainties, and expanding secondhand device markets. Global mobile phone shipment growth faces deceleration to just 0.6% in 2025, with manufacturers projecting only 1.24 billion units to ship worldwide.
Taiwan's Zhen Ding Technology (臻鼎-KY) maintains its commanding position in the global FPC market with a substantial 19.9% market share. Suzhou Dongshan Precision Manufacturing (東山精密) follows as the second-largest player with 14.6%, while Japan's Nippon Mektron holds third place with 13.0%. The top three manufacturers collectively control nearly half of the entire market, demonstrating the industry's remarkably high concentration and competitive dynamics.
