TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's gangster film "GATAO: Big Brothers" (角頭-鬥陣欸) shattered box office records, becoming 2025's highest-grossing domestic movie after earning NT$77.2 million (around US$2.5 million) in just four days, according to a press release. The film surpassed its predecessor, "GATAO: Like Father Like Son" (角頭-大橋頭), establishing a new opening record for the popular crime series. Producer Red Chang (張威縯) expressed pride in the achievement, calling it his proudest work while thanking his team and devoted fans.

Actor Wang Shih-hsien (王識賢) electrified fans at a popular nightclub Sunday when he took the stage at 1 a.m. with his signature opening line. "I am Wang Shih-hsien. I am Pei Kuan Gang's (北館) A-jen," he declared, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Wang performed classic song hits, demonstrating his appreciation for the devoted fans who have steadfastly supported the GATAO series throughout its run.

The film features the popular "Pei Kuan Gang" ensemble known as the "Five Tiger Generals" (五虎將), including Cheng Jen-Shuo (鄭人碩), Chang Zhang-xing (張再興), Shang-Ho Huang (黃尚禾), Gary Tang (唐振剛), and Jason Wu (吳震亞). All five actors made surprise appearances at the nightclub alongside Wang. The six performers delighted fans by stepping down from the stage to interact directly, exchanging high-fives, taking selfies, and signing autographs in an intimate celebration. ◼ (At time of reporting, US$1 equals approximately NT$30.503)
