TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Malaysian police have issued a warrant for singer Namewee (黃明志), who reappeared early Wednesday (Nov. 5) after losing contact on Tuesday (Nov. 4). He posted a video online stating that he had traveled from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur and turned himself in. Authorities are still investigating the sudden death of influencer Iris Hsieh (謝侑芯) on Oct. 22 at a five-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Officials initially suspected a heart attack as the cause of death, but the case took a dramatic turn when police began treating it as a murder investigation. Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil announced on Tuesday that they would pursue murder charges. Namewee, present at the scene, allegedly had nine ecstasy pills, suggesting possible drug involvement alongside murder charges.

Namewee expressed his commitment to cooperating with the investigation. He wrote on Instagram that he'd arrived at the police station and would cooperate with the police to provide an explanation regarding what had happened. He also mentioned that he would not run away, stating that he had turned himself in for all previous arrest warrants. Authorities plan to request a seven-day remand for Namewee to facilitate the investigation.
