TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mission in Sweden (駐瑞典台北代表團) announced on Tuesday (Nov. 4) night the completion of a tourism promotion event in Stockholm, Sweden, on Monday (Nov. 3). The event aimed to foster connections with the Nordic travel industry and expand potential visitor sources.

Themed "Experience Taiwan Beyond the Ordinary," the event attracted nearly 40 Swedish industry professionals and media representatives. Chuang Po-min (莊博閔), the Deputy Counselor of the Taipei Representative Office in Sweden, emphasized Taiwan's rich cultural influences from Japan, Spain, and others. He highlighted Taiwan's blend of historical depth and innovative spirit, urging visitors to explore its breathtaking landscapes and creative urban environments.

Lin Yu-shan (林毓珊), Director of the Tourism Bureau's London Office, mentioned recent initiatives, such as familiarization trips and cultural workshops aimed at deepening the Nordic industry's understanding of Taiwan's cultural and tourism offerings. The event featured cultural performances, such as Judy's Harmonica Ensemble playing "Taiwan Fantasy - Steam Train" (台灣幻想曲-火車), and offered classic Taiwanese gifts like pineapple cakes.

Attendees participated in cultural experiences, including crafting wooden coasters and weaving bookmarks, complemented by the "Have a Cup in Taiwan" (來台灣喝一杯) theme, which featured black tea bags. The promotion introduced Taiwan's latest travel products and offers, with China Airlines and Taiwanese businesses sponsoring prizes to encourage European industry visits. Lin expressed plans to continue developing Nordic markets, inviting global travelers to explore Taiwan's unique charm and tourism potential.
