TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Leeteuk (利特) of Super Junior headlined the press conference for Hakka TV's (客家電視) "Chef's Arrival: Hakka Kitchen 2" on Wednesday (Dec. 3). The K-pop star joined Hyoyeon (孝淵) of Girls' Generation, Taiwanese actors Wen Shenghao (温昇豪) and Annie Chen (陳庭妮) to launch the second season. The show's first season won Most Popular Variety Show at the 60th Golden Bell Awards, Taiwan's premier television honors.
Leeteuk drew cheers when he lay on the ground to showcase the "Hakka TV" sign during the event. He expressed his ambition for the second season, saying, "Our goal is to win another award," and hinted at plans to invest in property in Taiwan. The Super Junior member revealed he'll spend 20 days in Taiwan this December, jokingly asking close friend Wen Shenghao if he has a spare room.
Hyoyeon impressed attendees with her command of Hakka phrases like "thank you" and "hurry up" during her first Taiwanese variety show appearance, organizers reported. The Girls' Generation member expressed a desire to prepare spicy rice cakes for her team members during the event. Annie Chen, a newcomer to the show, admitted initial concerns about fitting in but felt welcomed by the cast and production team's warmth. ◼
