TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Railway Bureau (交通部鐵道局) announced Dec. 8 that the 26th MOTC Golden Road Awards will take place on Friday (Dec. 12), honoring 53 organizations and units. This year's awards, themed "Golden Road Leading‧Convenient Taiwan," feature seven categories, including excellent landscape, road maintenance, and equipment maintenance.
YouTuber Tsai Chin-an (蔡覲安) received the Special Contribution Award for his accessible presentations on major transportation projects. The Railway Bureau noted that Tsai's videos have bridged the gap between public departments and citizens, fostering mutual understanding of transportation developments.
The "National Freeway No. 1 and Taiwan Route 74 System Interchange Project" earned first place in the Outstanding Engineering category. This project introduced Taiwan's first curved spine bridge, implementing 205 nighttime traffic controls and a "co-construction" approach to expedite the process and minimize land delivery delays.
The Highway Bureau's "Taiwan Route 64 and Route 61 Southbound Ramp Improvement Project" utilized BIM simulation for precision routing and constructed piers up to 30 meters high using the cantilever construction method. This project revitalized Shuixian Park, transforming a security blind spot into a recreational area and allowing the R4 ramp to open nearly a year ahead of schedule, enhancing regional traffic efficiency and safety.
