TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwanese automotive conglomerate Hotai Motor (和泰車) announced on Thursday (Jan. 8) the launch of its 2026 Hotai Accelerator's first phase in collaboration with industry accelerator StarFab. The initiative invites innovative technology startups to participate, aiming to leverage next-generation technologies for intelligent services and data-driven decision-making, according to a press release.
This year's call for proposals focuses on three main areas: AI operational empowerment, AI intelligent decision-making, and the expansion of innovative business models. Hotai Motor highlighted 15 specific themes, which include AI smart customer service and a vehicle technology AI knowledge management platform. The company offers selected teams opportunities for software and hardware integration and development.
Chosen startups will gain access to anonymized vehicle data and resources from Hotai Motor's business locations for concept validation and technology optimization. Furthermore, Hotai Motor will recommend these startups to apply for the Google for Startups Cloud program, providing them with cloud credits, technical training, and curated resources.
Hotai Motor emphasized that new technologies like artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things are rapidly reshaping global industries. In 2024, Hotai Group established a dedicated accelerator and partnered with StarFab to create an external innovation mechanism. During its first year, the accelerator attracted nearly 100 startups worldwide and collaborated with multiple teams for proof of concept (PoC) projects.
