TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Wei Chuan Dragons (味全龍) announced on Thursday (Jan. 8) that Furukubo Kenji (古久保健二), who led the Rakuten Monkeys (樂天桃猿) to victory in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) championship last year, will join their coaching team. Furukubo will serve as the roaming coordinator coach, focusing on integrating the strengths of the first and second teams.
Furukubo, who will be wearing jersey No. 87, will bridge the gap between the first and second teams by fostering player development and assisting the coaching staff in adjusting training rhythms and practices. Through meticulous execution of various plans, Furukubo aims to enhance the team's overall operational efficiency and strengthen its competitive edge.
The Wei Chuan Dragons praised Furukubo for his renowned communication skills, emphasizing his attention to players' conditions and actual needs. The team expressed optimism that his detailed communication style and extensive leadership experience will offer players stable and comprehensive support in training arrangements.
