TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Hong Kong's latest blockbuster, "Back to the Past" (尋秦記), has taken Taiwan by storm since its Jan. 9 release. Co-produced by Louis Koo (古天樂) and Deng Weibin (鄧維弼), and directed by Ng Yuen-fai (吳炫輝) and Jack Lai (黎震龍), the film has amassed a box office collection of NT$12 million, marking a rare success for Hong Kong cinema in recent years.

Louis Koo, who visited Taiwan last week to promote the film, expressed his desire to celebrate with Raymond Lam (林峯). Lam, despite a hectic schedule, managed to visit Taiwan for a day to thank fans and plans to meet them in Taichung. This film adaptation, released 25 years after the original TV series, features Koo and Jessica Hsuan (宣萱), whose promotional efforts have significantly boosted ticket sales.

Raymond Lam's portrayal of the "Qin King" has captivated audiences, showcasing his mature charisma and commanding presence since his debut 25 years ago. Fans noted the stark contrast between his current role and his earlier work in the TV series. Lam's previous collaboration with Koo in "Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In" (九龍城寨之圍城) further increased his popularity in Taiwan. During his visit, he greeted fans in Taiwanese, reflecting his growing connection with the local audience.

Following a celebration event in Malaysia, Lam dedicated a day to engaging closely with fans in Taiwan. As "Back to the Past" continues its successful run across the island, anticipation builds for future interactions with its stars.
