TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei city is preparing for Taipei's largest rose exhibition, Taipei Rose Festival (台北玫瑰展), at the Taipei Rose Garden (臺北玫瑰園), set to captivate visitors with its blend of roses and landscaping from March 6 to April 6. The event promises an experience akin to an outdoor art gallery, drawing in flower enthusiasts and couples alike.

Nestled in Xinsheng Park Area (新生公園) of Taipei Expo Park (花博公園), the 1.5-hectare Taipei Rose Garden boasts six distinct exhibition zones, including the "Secret Garden" (祕密花園) and Flower Sea Area. The garden houses nearly 800 varieties and about 5,000 rose plants from around the world, creating a European-style romantic garden setting, ideal for a date.

In recent years, the Taipei Rose Festival has drawn increasing public attention, becoming a top choice for spring flower outings. Visitor numbers have risen year by year, further boosting local tourism development. To offer flower lovers a more diverse experience, this year's exhibition continues to recruit specialty vendors centered on themes such as roses and gardening.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of park staff and volunteers, thousands of roses burst into bloom during the annual rose festival, creating a vibrant display. The city hopes to offer visitors the finest garden scenery possible. Each blooming season draws flower lovers from near and far, making it a popular attraction for both domestic and international tourists. It has also become a popular option for couples looking to take wedding photos.

Since Dec. 2025, nursery staff and volunteers have been working diligently on pruning and maintaining the roses. They completed the major pruning tasks early this year. According to the Taipei Parks and Street Lights Office (臺北市公園處), winter pruning plays a crucial role in rejuvenating the roses, promoting new growth, and ensuring a more concentrated and fuller bloom in spring. The authority emphasizes the importance of timing and technique in rose pruning, which requires careful observation of plant growth to maintain good ventilation and lighting conditions. This meticulous approach helps reduce the risk of pests and diseases. They stress that improper or delayed pruning could damage or even kill the plants.

Meanwhile, the Zhongshan District Office (中區公所) in Taipei will also team up with the 2026 Taipei Rose Festival to host a Valentine's-themed singles networking event on March 14, White Day. In addition to a romantic flower-viewing stroll, organizers have carefully arranged interactive activities, including fun group photo challenges and a hands-on workshop to create therapeutic dried-flower candles.
