HAWAII (TVBS News) — The world's largest active volcano, the Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii, erupted on Sunday (Now. 27), the first time in 38 years.
The volcano is on Hawaii's Big Island and makes up more than half of the land area. The last time it erupted was in 1984.
Six centimeters of ashfall could accumulate on the island, the National Weather Service in Honolulu predicts.
Scientists fear that volcanic activities will impact people's lives in Hawaii and disrupt the economy. Fortunately, they assured residents that the eruption does not pose a threat to any communities.
