TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei City in Taiwan has earned praise from travelers for its user-friendly public transportation system and delectable local cuisine.

One of the city's standout features is its remarkable safety, particularly for solo explorers.  Confirming its positive reputation, the statistics website "RankingRoyals" recently unveiled Taipei as the fourth safest city in the world.

"I left my wallet at the MRT station, and upon returning, I found it exactly where I had left it," Vietnamese travelers Ling Ho said.

"This level of security may not be common in other places or countries."

The rankings considered various factors, including the local crime rate and the ability to navigate the streets safely day and night.

Incidents of robberies, assaults, verbal abuse, and racial discrimination were also influential in determining the city's safety rankings.

While Taipei excelled in these categories, its relatively small population may play a significant role compared to other cities.

"In terms of city scope, Taipei holds an advantage," Soochow University's Sociology Professor Liu Wei-gong said.

"Additionally, it is important to acknowledge that many other large cities have significant immigrant populations from various parts of the world, including refugees," he added.

The homogeneity of Taipei, in comparison with other urban centers, may contribute to lower crime rates and fewer racial conflicts.

As Taiwan embraces global engagement, it becomes crucial to establish order and promote the understanding of diverse societies.

These efforts are necessary to uphold Taipei's current prestigious position as a safe and welcoming destination for travelers.
