TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Cheryl Yang, a well-known Taiwanese actress, graced the cover of December's Marie Claire magazine and opened up about her role as a single mother in the mini-series "How Well You Love Me" (看看你有多愛我).

Reflecting on her own complex relationship with her mother, Yang revealed similarities in her personal life.

She started her career in the entertainment industry at 15 with part-time work and formally entered acting at 24. Known for her sincerity and dedication to her craft, Yang's performances have consistently received acclaim over her years in the drama industry.

In her latest project, she portrayed an Internet celebrity and a single mother of fraternal twin daughters dealing with teenage rebellion.

The portrayal of maternal struggles in the role resonated with Yang, who shared her own journey with her mother, recounting conflicts in her 20s that escalated when they began living together in her 30s.

It wasn't until her 40s, influenced by work experiences, that Yang learned to appreciate her mother's virtues and build a more harmonious relationship.

"You shouldn't magnify faults because it's family, overlooking their good," Yang emphasized the importance of communication and respect in finding mutual understanding. "I've learned to sit down and really talk, to be calm, and to put myself in my mother's shoes."

On set, Yang initially worried about her rapport with Tammy Lin and Chan Tzu-hsuan, who played her on-screen daughters. However, she was pleasantly surprised by their exceptional performances, contributing to a compelling family dynamic in the series.
