TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taiwan People's Party (TPP) unveiled on Saturday (Dec. 9) that its presidential candidate, Ko Wen-je , and running mate, Cynthia Wu, secured 27.6% support in the latest polls conducted by the party.

Leading the race, the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) Lai Ching-te and Hsiao Bi-khim garnered 29.9% backing, with 50.1% of respondents believing they would win the election.

Trailing behind, the Kuomintang (KMT) duo of Hou Yu-ih and Jaw Shaw-kong received a 24.3% support rate, yet 17.9% of those surveyed predicted their victory.

In party support, the KMT led with 26%, while the TPP closely followed at 25.7%, and the DPP lagged at 23.5%.

The poll, with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of approximately ±2.75%, had a valid sample size of 1,216 people. It included 841 landline responses and 375 mobile phone samples from Dec. 7 to Dec. 8, 2023.

The sampling method targeted adults over 20 across all 22 counties and cities. Landline samples were based on Chunghwa Telecom's directory, while mobile numbers were generated by assigning random digits to the first five digits of mobile network user numbers.
