PARIS (TVBS News) — Paris has bolstered its security efforts to ensure the safety of tourists and residents during the Olympic Games, with a strong presence of police officers and soldiers visible throughout the city. The French government has mobilized 30,000 officers daily, including 20,000 security guards, 10,000 military personnel, and nearly 1,800 foreign police officers from 40 partner countries.

Federico G. and his family, tourists from Mexico, expressed their sense of safety, noting the extensive security measures in place. "Well, it's not our first time in Paris, but, yes, we feel safe. There's a lot of security everywhere, in the touristic places, in the stadiums, everywhere. So, yes, we feel safe walking around Paris," he said.

These foreign officers, primarily from Europe but also from South Korea, Qatar, Brazil, and Mexico, work closely with French authorities. Their presence is particularly noticeable at airports, train stations, and the 39 Olympic venues. This collaborative effort includes specialized units such as dog teams, anti-drone experts, border guards, deminers, horsemen, and motorcyclists.

Mr. Chiang, a tourist from Taiwan, shared his experience in Paris, highlighting the heightened sense of security. "Very safe because there are police officers, soldiers, and foreign cops from all over the world who came to support. You feel more at ease; you can wear your backpacks on your back," Chiang noted. "On the subway, they also broadcast to beware of pickpockets and so on. We did a lot of homework before we arrived. The quality of the travel is OK, except near the main stadium where it is a little more crowded, but in these small streets, it is quite comfortable and also quite safe."

The presence of these officers has helped tourists feel secure near popular destinations such as Notre Dame. This strong security presence symbolizes mutual support and reassures visitors here for the competitions, ensuring a safer environment for everyone.

Foreign officers on duty in Paris work under the coordination of French authorities, who retain the power to make autonomous arrests and conduct checks. This international cooperation not only enhances security but also fosters a sense of global camaraderie and support during the Olympic Games.

With such comprehensive measures, Paris is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all its visitors during the Olympics. The city continues to prioritize security, ensuring that both locals and tourists can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the games without concerns for their safety.
