TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Authorities searched Taiwan People's Party (TPP) Chairman Ko Wen-je's (柯文哲) residence on Jinshan South Road (金山南路), Taipei, early Friday (Aug. 30) morning.

The Taiwan Taipei District Prosecutors Office (台北地檢署) and the Agency Against Corruption (廉政署) conducted the search as part of the ongoing Core Pacific City Case (京華城案).

Officials plan to list Ko as a defendant and take him to the Agency Against Corruption under the Ministry of Justice for questioning.

This development follows the detention of KMT Taipei City Councilor Angela Ying (應曉薇) and Core Pacific Group Chairman Sheen Ching-jing (沈慶京). Authorities have already detained Ying and her assistant, Wu Shunmin (吳順民), due to their involvement in a financial anomaly amounting to NT$45 million.

Prosecutors and anti-corruption personnel decided not to summon Ko via a subpoena. Instead, they opted for a direct search and interview at his residence.

The Agency Against Corruption confirmed plans to summon four individuals, including Ko, for questioning Friday. Following the interrogation, they will transfer the individuals to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for further review.

Authorities continue to uncover details about the financial irregularities involving high-profile figures. The public awaits further developments as the legal proceedings unfold.
