TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Shanghai Vice Mayor Hua Yuan (華源) will lead a 71-member delegation to Taipei on Monday (Dec. 16) for the Twin City Forum (雙城論壇). Authorities have prepared for the arrival at Taipei Songshan Airport (松山機場) by setting up designated areas for supporters and protesters, anticipating both groups to gather.
Taipei Deputy Mayor Lin Yi-hua (林奕華) will welcome the delegation at noon and guide them on a visit to the Kuang Tzu Po Ai Public House Development Project (廣慈博愛園區). Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) will host a welcome banquet at the Grand Hotel Taipei (圓山飯店) in the evening to honor the guests.
After the banquet, the Shanghai delegation plans to enjoy a sightseeing bus tour of Taipei's nightscape. To ensure security, authorities have deployed 85 officers and aviation police at the airport, with an additional 30 officers assigned to maintain order at the Grand Hotel Taipei.
