TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND, 國防部) reported on Monday (March 10) that 11 PLA aircraft and 9 PLAN vessels were detected operating around Taiwan over the past 24 hours, with nine out of 11 sorties crossing the median line and entering Taiwan's northern and southwestern ADIZ.
With the Chinese military conducting significant activity, the ministry's data illustrated the extent of these activities, noting that between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Sunday, one PLA aircraft was detected in northern ADIZ.
According to the ministry's "PLA activities in the waters and airspace around Taiwan," five out of seven sorties of fighters crossed the median line from 7:35 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Later that day, three sorties of fighters were detected in southwestern ADIZ.
The military also reported that China launched satellites from Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC, 西昌衛星發射中心) in Sichuan Province early Monday at 1:17 a.m., with the flight path over central Taiwan toward the Western Pacific. The armed forces employed CAP aircraft, Navy ships, and coastal missile systems in response to the activities.
