TAIPEI (TVBS News) — South Korean actor Ju Ji-hoon (朱智勛) attended a signing event between the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA, 文策院) and South Korean production companies Mr. Romance and Moving Pictures Co. on Friday (March 14), showing support of this major cross-national venture.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) marked a significant collaboration between Taiwan and South Korea in the film and television industry. The collaboration aims to develop 10 transnational audiovisual works over five years, with each side producing five pieces. Through resource sharing, talent cooperation, and co-production, the partners hope to boost Taiwan's global content influence.

Established in 2017, Moving Pictures Co., a subsidiary of By4M Studio, has built a solid foundation in the South Korean film industry with its "one source, multi-use" strategy. Association chairman Homme Tsai (蔡嘉駿) noted the collaboration would leverage South Korea's expertise in production and content development with Taiwan's creativity and potential to produce high-quality, buzzworthy content, enhancing Taiwan's global exposure.

Mr. Romance CEO Shim Se-yoon emphasized the partnership's potential to create new opportunities in the global content market, exploring collaboration possibilities with Taiwanese companies Da-Mu Pictures and Rabbit Creative. Lee Hyung-koo of Moving Pictures Co. believes this MOU will serve as a crucial stepping stone for Taiwan and South Korea to enter the international market, planning more globally oriented productions with Taiwanese partners.
