TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A weather front will sweep across northern Taiwan's seas on Thursday (May 1), bringing brief showers to areas from central Taiwan northward and the eastern half of the island. Meteorologists predict an increased chance of rain as the front moves through, signaling a shift in weather patterns.

High pressure will move out of the East China Sea on Friday, causing winds near Taiwan to shift northeast to east. This change will bring brief showers or thunderstorms to the eastern half and the mountainous regions of the western half.

The weather pattern will continue to evolve on Saturday, with winds gradually turning from southeast to south. This shift will increase moisture levels, resulting in brief showers in the eastern half and potential afternoon thunderstorms in the western half. Sunday will see the first wave of the plum rain front moving swiftly southward across Taiwan. This movement will bring showers or thunderstorms to areas from central Taiwan northward and the eastern half, with localized afternoon thunderstorms expected in the south.

Looking ahead to next Monday and Tuesday, another front will approach Taiwan, causing rapid weather changes and an unstable environment. Residents should be vigilant for sudden heavy rain, lightning, and strong gusts.

As Taiwan braces for these weather changes, residents should stay informed and prepared for potential disruptions. Weather experts recommend keeping an eye on forecasts and taking necessary precautions to ensure safety during these unpredictable conditions.
