TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Chinese Taipei Basketball Association (CTBA, 中華民國籃球協會), Taiwan's governing body for basketball, announced its 16-man roster for the upcoming 2025 FIBA Asia Cup on Monday (July 21). Basketball fans across the island nation are particularly excited about the inclusion of brothers Adam Tsang Hinton and Robert Tsang Hinton, who will make history as the first siblings to represent Taiwan together in an international competition. The prestigious tournament is scheduled to run from Aug. 5 to 17 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Team leadership responsibilities will fall to veteran players Liu Cheng (劉錚), Chen Ying-Chun (陳盈駿), and Lin Ting-Chien (林庭謙), all experienced international competitors. The roster receives a significant boost with the return of four key players who were sidelined during the recent Jones Cup tournament: power forward Hu Long-Mao (胡瓏貿), naturalized center Mohammad Al Bachir Gadiaga, shooting guard Kao Chin-Wei (高錦瑋), and versatile wing Riven Ma (馬建豪).
The team's preparations have been hampered by a series of unfortunate injuries that will keep several star players off the court in Saudi Arabia. Nelson Lin (林秉聖), Hsieh Ya-Hsuan (謝亞軒), and Jan Lin (林正) have all been ruled out of the competition due to various medical issues. Perhaps most significantly, Lu Chun-Hsiang (盧峻翔), the dominant two-time Most Valuable Player from Taiwan's professional P.
