TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A wayward piglet named "A-Tsai" brought unexpected excitement to the streets of Pingtung County's Gongyuan Rd., engaging local police in a merry chase Wednesday (Dec. 6) morning.

The six-month-old black piglet was spotted sauntering down a street in the morning, leading concerned citizens to worry for its safety amidst traffic. Fearing the animal could come to harm, locals took it upon themselves to corral the piglet and call authorities.

Videos of A-Tsai, whose escapade occurred after slipping out of its leash, evading capture with surprising agility, have since gone viral, drawing laughter and whimsical comments from social media users across the nation.

Police successfully apprehended the little escape artist, taking it to the local station.

The piglet's owner, surnamed Chang, expressed gratitude to the officers for their assistance, sharing that A-Tsai was used to living freely alongside dogs and was known for its adventures outside but also for its sense of direction.

Following the incident, Chang hurried to the station to reclaim the spirited A-Tsai, ensuring that the piglet's unplanned outing had a happy and safe conclusion.

The light-hearted incident and A-Tsai's online fame highlight the tight-knit community's spirit of looking out for one another, no matter the species.
