TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) announced on Sunday (May 5) the appointment of Chang Liao Wan-chien and Yeh Ping-cheng as the new deputy ministers of the Ministry of Education.
Yeh, a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Taiwan University, stated on Facebook that his goal is to create a better education system. He aims to cultivate more talent in Taiwan, which is grappling with a declining birth rate, to face future challenges.
In addition to his academic career, Yeh is also the founder of the online game-based learning platform PaGamO and the BTS Experimental Education Program. Since 2013, he has been actively involved in "flipped learning," an innovative educational approach that reverses traditional teaching methods.
Yeh said he will join the Ministry of Education after May 20. His focus is on how education can empower and instill confidence in Taiwan's next generation to face a rapidly changing future world.
