PARIS (TVBS News) — All eyes are on Taiwanese weightlifter Chen Wen-huei (陳玟卉), who will compete in the women's 71kg category early Saturday (Aug. 10) at 1:30 a.m.

Chen, who secured a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics in the 64kg category, now faces a new challenge due to weight class changes.

Chen's coach, Lin Ching-neng (林敬能), expressed confidence in her abilities. "I won't say that she's a dark horse as her strength has also been there, but those who are expecting an exciting match should stay until the end," he said.

Among the 12 competitors in the 71kg category, Chen's registered total of 246kg, places her in a strong position, trailing only two other athletes.

In addition to weightlifting, Taiwanese golfers Hsu Wei-ling (徐薇淩) and Chien Pei-yun (錢珮芸) will continue their third day of competition.

Known as "Moving Day," the third day typically features increased course difficulty to create separation among competitors and set the stage for the final round.

Hsu acknowledged the challenges posed by the course but remained optimistic. "It's a big challenge for female golfers, but since we're already here representing Taiwan in the Olympics, we must be at our best and give it our best shot in the hopes of having the chance to gain a medal on the last day."

As Taiwan's athletes strive for medals, fans eagerly await their performances, hoping for a repeat of past successes. The nation stands united in support, ready to celebrate their achievements on the global stage.
