TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Thousands of fans gathered at Kaohsiung International Airport (小港機場) Friday (Dec. 5) to welcome Korean stars for the Asia Artist Awards. The ceremony takes place Saturday (Dec. 6) at Kaohsiung National Stadium (國家體育場).
The South Korean awards ceremony brings excitement to the southern Taiwanese city of Kaohsiung, where it is being held this year. The event marks a significant cultural moment for the city as it hosts the star-studded ceremony featuring multiple K-pop groups. Fans and attendees eagerly await the ceremony, which promises performances from top Korean artists.
Shuhua (舒華), a member of the K-pop group I-DLE, arrived earlier in the afternoon, returning to her home country Taiwan. She responded warmly to fans calling her name, turning to acknowledge them and smiling as she waved at the gathered crowd. Shuhua will host the ACON concert Sunday (Dec. 7) alongside Korean artist Lee Jun-young (李濬榮) at the same venue.
Girl groups LE SSERAFIM and IVE arrived in Taiwan soon after Shuhua, greeted by enthusiastic fans at Kaohsiung International Airport (小港機場). The artists adjusted to Kaohsiung's mild 24-degree Celsius (75.2°F) temperature after departing Seoul's chilly weather, shedding their heavy coats. LE SSERAFIM's members waved at cameras while IVE's members appeared more reserved during their arrival. ◼
