TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The alumni of Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Band (日本京都橘高校), the "Orange Devils Alumni Band, 121st Class" (橘色惡魔121期校友樂團), will organize a visit to Taiwan in March to express gratitude for the aid Taiwan provided after the 3/11 earthquake 15 years ago. The 26-member ensemble aims to foster cultural exchange through music.
E.Sun Bank (玉山銀行) and the General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC, 中華文化總會) will support the band's cross-national events. They will host the 2026 Taiwan Concert on March 11. Chiayi County Government (嘉義縣政府) has invited the group to perform on the main stage of the "Illuminating Taiwan, Lighting Up Chiayi" (光躍台灣.點亮嘉義) event on March 10. The following morning, the band will present a flash performance at the Grand Hotel Taipei (台北圓山飯店).
Kumagaya (熊谷), the leader of the 121st class, expressed immense joy in reuniting with fellow members to perform once again. He stated, "We will give our all alongside our partners, filled with gratitude, and we hope to bring you a performance brimming with smiles and joy." Kumagaya expressed his excitement at once again sharing the stage with partners who have fought alongside him for three years. The visit promises smiles and joy, highlighting the enduring friendship between Taiwan and Japan.
