KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai announced late Monday (Dec. 25) that the Kaohsiung Music Center and the Eye of Gangshan will glow with therapeutic yellow lights every evening from 6 p.m. to midnight, starting today and running until Jan. 26, 2024.

Recently, many "yellow circles" have appeared around Kaohsiung, leading to online speculation that the yellow rubber duck exhibition may be revisiting the Kaohsiung harbor. This conjecture comes as it has been exactly a decade since the initial display of the giant floating duck in 2013.

In a Facebook post, Chen noted that while the urban landscape has seen various constructions and transformations over the decade, the persistent aspiration of the municipal team remains unchanged: to bring progress and joy to the citizens.

Kaohsiung's city government remained cryptic about whether the iconic yellow duck would indeed return, stating that Mayor Chen will provide a more detailed response when interviewed on Tuesday.

The 2013 Rubber Duck exhibition was a boon for the city’s economy, drawing approximately 3.9 million visitors in a single month and generating nearly NT$1 billion in business opportunities for Kaohsiung.
