TAIPEI (TVBS News) — TSMC (台積電) reported its February revenue on Monday (March 10), revealing a mixed financial performance. February's consolidated revenue reached approximately NT$260.09 billion, marking an 11.3% decrease from January but a 43.1% increase from the same period last year, setting a historical high for February.

The cumulative revenue for TSMC from January to February 2025 totaled NT$553.297 billion, reflecting a 39.2% year-over-year increase, also achieving a record for this period. TSMC previously stated that a magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit Taiwan on Jan. 21, followed by multiple aftershocks, including during the Lunar New Year. Although the company's wafer fabs sustained no structural damage, the quakes affected a certain number of in-production wafers.

TSMC anticipates first-quarter consolidated revenue to approach the lower end of its forecast range of $25 billion to $25.8 billion. The company estimates recording NT$5.3 billion in earthquake-related losses in the first quarter, net of insurance claims.

Despite these setbacks, TSMC expects its first-quarter gross margin to remain between 57% and 59%, with an operating profit margin between 46.5% and 48.5%. TSMC remains committed to recovering production losses and maintains its full-year financial outlook.
